Beautiful new building as part of the Summa Campus - gave birth to our daughter in the new maternity ward and it was outstanding. The rooms are private and spacious and everything about the facility is modern. The art from local artists is a grand gesture and demonstrative of commitment to community

On August 5 2024 I was stopped on highway and rear ended by a semi going 56 mph. Unconscious I was taken to Summa Hospital emergency room the start of a long recovery If not for this place so many things could have been worse I just wish I could meet my er staff icu staff and thank all in person I literally had my face rebuilt at Summa. THANK YOU

Today I had 2 surgeries done at the time for my nose and my ear. Dr garritson did my surgery and he did amazing. I wanted to that one person specifically and that was Dr Russ (I think that’s his last name I had to ask another nurse for his name). He was the best person to have for this surgery pre op. He checked in on me, he was honest with me, told me stories that we can relate on to help calm me down all the way, didn’t sugar coat anything ( I asked him not to) and he gave me so much hope and so much faith in this surgery. I am currently nominating him for a Daisy award right now through their website. Whoever gets him as their preop nurse is very lucky! Thank you again to the wonderful staff there that made me feel at ease and as calm as possible!

After waiting for over 4 hours at Akron General for my wife to be properly attended to for her gallbladder attack, we finally decided to leave and went to Akron City/Summa. Received prompt, professional, and friendly service, as one expects when in need of medical attention. Much Thanks to the staff at Akron City/Summa. Shame on you people at Akron General Hospital. You need to up your game, big time.

I had surgery at Akron City Hospital and every single person was wonderful. The whole staff was professional, kind and really went above and beyond to make me feel better. And the food was really good. It was the first time I stayed at a hospital with room service vs a set menu and was impressed with the choices and quality.

THE EXTRA MILE...and then some. I would like to actually beg the President or CEO of Summa Health - Akron Campus to personally thank Ms. Sandra Stanley and Dr. Madihah Hepburn, MD (Neurocritical Care) for going above and beyond to help me (as the funeral director) help the family of a patient who passed away at your medical center and now needed to get home to another country. The speed, and genuinely honest and visible care and effort they both put in to the extensive documentation needed to get someone returned home to another country in this day and age was unbelievable; and to be honest the fastest in my 32 year career as a funeral director. So today...and probably every day, know the CRITICAL CARE TEAM at Summa Health has at least two amazing teammates that have the most beautiful hearts and genuine willingness to help others. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for speeding up the return of a families loved one to their home far away. You made a difference you will never fully understand-I wish more healthcare professional were like the two of you.

I'm 65 yrs old I've been to a lot of hospitals in my days this hospital was great.i had a scheduled procedure on first floor there were huge staff everywhere really angels on earth showing up early in cold dark morning in Ohio to serve the public it must cost million bucks to operate a place like this daily.great staff great doctors. Jacqueline P in labor and delivery at Akron City Hospital took care of my daughter while she was in labor and helped deliver my grandson. She’s kind, courteous, attentive, and polite—hands down, she gets five stars from me. Soon-to-be mothers who have her as a nurse will be very appreciative. Thanks again, Jacqueline P—you did an outstanding job. We’re forever grateful! Thank you Dr. Gregory Kovacevich and Staff as well you all are awesome!

Gave birth to my second daughter here about 4 months ago. Had a wonderful experience. The nurses were all amazing and made me feel so comfortable. There was no pressure to do anything I didn’t want to do. My midwife and team were also amazing. My first was born at a different hospital and the experiences were night and day different. From the moment I arrived everyone was so encouraging and it made the whole process an empowering experience. There is no question where we will go when we have another baby.
